Since we love to bake and decorate at our house, the Barefoot Designer just can’t help herself but to share egg decorating techniques with the children and all their friends.
Wax resist eggs - simple and easy using crayons. Sugar cookies to ice and decorate were given as gifts to the children on Easter Sunday.

Pavlova the Aussie way

In my test kitchen, Sarah and I set about making one of Australia’s most famous desserts, the Pavlova. A few secret tips from Stephanie Alexander’s book, The Cook’s Companion, such as a dash of vinegar and baking powder once all the sugar has dissolved, and the meringue was perfect!
With a little help from the boys , marinating the strawberries in balsamic and sugar, , a but of nut bashing with the rolling pin, and whipped up cream - hey presto - magical sweetness that melts in the mouth!

FoCCS visit Sanantana Dharma Orphanage

A group of Friends of Canggu Community School, with our children, went to visit the orphanage in Negara, west Bali, to present them with another 15 million Rp. raised at the school Christmas Raffle 2008. I took Luca and Gioia, who along with the other children played and shared a great afternoon together. There is an urgent need for more funding at this orphanage, which houses 39 children in spartan conditions...

Charity Ladies Lunch - Christmas 2008

Louise and I hosted our 7th Annual Charity Christmas Lunch in December. It was held at Taman Wana and we were 22 ladies in total. There were amazing raffle prizes organised by Diana, and a fabulous spread of Christmas food and drinks, prepared and shared by my staff and Louise’s staff, along with help from some of our friends. We raised over 15 million Rupiah and dozens of wrapped gifts for the children of the Panti Asuhan Damianti in Alor, NTT, Indonesia. Thank you to all of you who came and to the sponsors.
