Marco grew up in Puglia, Southern Italy, the wheat belt of Europe. Surrounded by cousins, uncles and aunts, their family gatherings and feasts were always big, noisy and always with great food. The family have been farmers for generations, primarily durum wheat growers, they have farming in the blood! Marco went to school in Rome and finished his Masters degree in Florence. Working as an advisor for the FAO in Columbia he prepared his Thesis, and learned to speak Spanish. In 1991 Marco successfully introduced organic farming techniques to Bali, Indonesia, and continues to consult for farms and agricultural projects around the world.
